Struggles continue for Baghdatis...

Who doesn't love Marcos Baghdatis?  His smile on the court whether it's 6-4,4-1, or 5 all in the fifth is contagious.  He really makes you feel like there is nowhere on earth he'd rather be than on a tennis court, and that's what draws so many fans to him.  Over the past few years he has given us the feeling that he shows up to the big events, and is going to be a threat at majors.

Sadly, Marcos has slipped...big time.  Maybe it's the Tecnifibre curse.  Marcos switched a while ago from Fischer rackets (which he used forever) to a new Tecnifibre (probably his old Fischer painted.)  Ever since he's had a major wrist injury, and has been struggling to even finish matches.  Today in Paris he lost to Querrey.  After 2 tough sets, Marcos retired at 2-3 in the third.  Sad.  You have to feel for the guy, hopefully he can put his body back together because he is certainly a great personality to have on court.

So now back to the results.
Today saw my dark horse semifinalist bow out in the 1st round to Feliciano Lopez...

M Cilic (CRO) vs A Seppi (ITA) 76(5) 62  Good win for the tough Croat.
N Kiefer (GER) d I Karlovic (CRO) 64 75 Kiefer is always tough in big tournaments...breaking Dr. Ivo twice is no joke either.
M Ancic (CRO) d R Schuettler (GER) 64 36 61  Ancic is healthy, and looking good.
S Querrey (USA) d M Baghdatis (CYP) 75 67(5) 32 ret. (back)  Man...
T Berdych (CZE) d [Q] R Ginepri (USA) 64 75 Berdych is playing well.
[Q] J Monaco (ARG) d M Safin (RUS) 60 76(4)  Safin's inconsistency continues.
[Q] S Bolelli (ITA) d J Nieminen (FIN) 75 64  Good win for the Italian over the tough lefty.
F Lopez (ESP) d J Tipsarevic (SRB) 63 64  There goes my upset pick for the semis.
That's is for today, much more to come tomorrow as some of the big names start to play.

UPSET PICK OF THE DAY:  LOPEZ DEF RODDICK 7-6, 7-5

You're right about the tennis channel. If I see Murphy Jenson, or the life story of Chris Evert one more time I'll scream.
