Murray wins Madrid

Hello again everyone....

Andy Murray has won the Madrid Masters, beating the pesky Gilles Simon, 6-4, 7-6(6).

Murray took control of the match early, serving amazing, as he did against Fed.  He took the first set 6-4, but Simon seemed to calm himself down in the second set, and both players held pretty comfortably until the tiebreak.  Simon fought to a 6-4 lead in the breaker for 2 set points, but getting a bit of his own medicine, lost those huge opportunities.  I mean, come on, he can't win EVERY big point in a tournament.  Murray now sealed his position in the Shanghai Masters Cup, and proved to everyone that he is a serious threat to the top of the rankings.

Next up for the boys are some tournaments in Lyon, Basel, and St. Petersburg.

So maybe this result will boost Murray's number of votes on the Blog poll, or maybe (probably) not.

That's all for this post, congrats Andy....Oh, and stay tuned tomorrow (Monday) for the start of Tip of the Week.

Another monthly section on the blog will be called The Tennis Psychic, where I make 3 bold predictions for the coming month of tennis.  The first of those will be Nov. 1st.

I have posted a link to Murray's Bio HERE , you can check out his record this year, prize money and see just how close he is to breaking into the top 3.    See you soon.
