Shanghai Update

Hey everyone...I'll blog later on all the results of today at the Masters Series, but I figured I would write one now about Shanghai.  With the Masters Cup approaching, Paris is going to decide the 3 remaining spots.  So far the usual suspects are already in (Rafa, Roger, Novak, Murray, Davydenko).

There are 11 people who have the ability to qualify.
I was on a few websites last night, and got a headache reading all of the scenarios.  If you want to go ahead and read them at your own risk...HERE is the link.

Here is my simplified version of the main people, and how they can control their destiny.

(The Front Runners)
Roddick is at 6 in the race right now, and qualifies by getting to the semis.

Del Potro has to take it a step further and make it to the finals to qualify.

Simon has to grind out one last tournament and make it to the finals as well to qualify.

Ferrer has to have some late season magic and make it to the finals.

(The Maybes)
Blake, Wawrinka, and Tsonga seal a spot by winning the title.

Since Gonzalez pulled out, he's done(and end to a disappointing season for him)...the only guys left are
(The Long Shots)
Nalbandian, Verdasco, Monfils, and Soderling.  All of these guys have to win the title plus getting some help from others in order to qualify.

OK...well that's my simplified version.  If you decide to go to the link and look at all of the (1,000,000) possibilities, good luck.
See you later with scores of the day.

You are so right about Safin, he is just to good to call it quits. I hope he changes his mind, he is one of my favorites to watch.
